Sensational mountain biking and cycling in the Scottish Highlands
Cairngorms National Park has an extensive range of cycling for both off and on road. There are many exciting and interesting routes with plenty adventure trails of single track to explore. Families and leisure cyclists are able to enjoy a variety of easy routes not far from home while the more adventurous can find endless routes across the hills and glens. Routes are well marked and easy to follow using an ordenance survey or cycling route map. For those cyclists who prefer more of a challenge there are a number of long, unmarked trails running through more rugged terrain. Head out into the wilderness with a map and a tent or hurtle down a ma made trail, what’s for sure if it’s mountain biking the Aviemore and Cairngorms area has it all!
The National Cycle Network Route 7 passes through the Cairngorms and takes cyclists through some of the most stunning scenery on the whole cycle network. It’s quiet and peaceful and includes 64km of off road routes
There is also the opportunity to hire electric bikes and follow the trails of the Electric Bike Network
